Is Texas A stand your ground state Texas permits the use of force without a duty to retreat, also known as stand your ground laws. So their ability to be impartial is basically nonexistent. The castle doctrine often gives you a legal right to use deadly force against an unlawful intruder in your home. ![]() Unfortunately, the cops & courts are in collusion with one another. Stand your ground laws echo the common law 'castle doctrine' principle, which does not carry a 'duty to retreat' when a person feels they must defend. The lower court should have thrown the case out & ruled it justifiable homicide. High price to pay for defending your rights. Greg Abbott, the Texas pardons board is considering a request from Abbott. it built upon the so-called Castle Doctrine, which states that people have the right to defend themselves with deadly force when. The Supreme Court overturned the conviction. And more recently in Texas, a state with one of the strongest ‘stand your ground’ laws, according to Texas Gov. He went to jail, stood trial, found guilty & appealed to the Supreme Court. In fact, during my brief studies in Criminal Justice it was taught that there is a case where someone actually killed the officer during a traffic stop when the officer was violating his rights. Cops don’t like this and tend to escalate situations where people stand there ground on there rights. So, what if the person attacking you is a Police Officer trying to pull you out of your car because he doesn’t like the fact that you are being belligerent & standing up for your rights when pulling you over for a minor traffic violation that has a fine only penalty? The Supreme court has rendered decisions basically stating that the only way to defend our rights is by being belligerent. ![]()
